This course is dedicated to real food lovers! Each
lesson is planned in such a way that students can experience
first-hand cooking in the Italian style and the secrets
of Mediterranean cuisine, for example handmade pasta,
gnocchi and traditional Salentine specialities. You
will learn how to create a different dish in every lesson.
The course also includes 2 excursions to local wine
producers of the area, where it will be explained the
characteristics of the typical regional wines as Negroamaro
and interesting wine-making methods. Also you will visit
some really nice “enoteche” where you can
taste local wines and dishes.
3 afternoons per week. It is possible to combine this
course with the Italian language course.
Italian Literature Course
Students who already have Italian A-level or equivalent,
can choose to take a literature course which focuses
on leading authors, in addition to the language course.
The course is designed for those who have a passion
and/or a professional interest in Italian literature.
Furthermore, for university students or those working
on a research project related to Italian literature,
the school can also arrange specially tailored Italian
Literature Courses (group or private) to meet your specific
needs.
3 lessons per week, each lasting 2 hours. It is possible
to combine this course with the Italian language course.
Italian Cinema Course
This course explores the literary, cultural and historical
backdrops behind a variety of films, from Fellini’s
artistic La Dolce Vita to the Italian Oscar winner for
Best Foreign Film, Benigni’s La Vita è
Bella. This course aims to provide students with the
fundamental skills to interpret and criticise films.
Specially tailored Italian Cinema Courses (group or
private) can be arranged for students with specific
interests. This course is open to students of all language
levels.
3 lessons per week, each lasting 2 hours. It is possible
to combine this course with the Italian language course.
Italian for Business
The course is designed for students who are interested
in developing their general Italian language skills
in a business context. Students learn how to understand
and write commercial letters, communicate by phone,
apply for a job as well as solve various problems in
public and private institutions.
3 lessons per week, each lasting 2 hours. It is possible
to combine this course with the Italian language course.
OVER 50 Course
This course is specifically created for people over 50 who want to study the Italian language and learn more about Italian and Salentine culture in all its aspects. Language classes take place in the morning, from 9.00 to 13.00. The activities and the excursions are in the afternoon.
4 hours per day in the morning 20 lessons per week
Legal Italian
This course is for students who are already experts
in the field of law in their own language and are interested
in the language of law in Italian for professional reasons
or for study. The most important topics are included
in the course, however, as the law field is extremely
broad, teacher can plan lessons on specific topics according
to students needs.
3 lessons per week, each lasting 2 hours. It is possible
to combine this course with the Italian language course.
Italian for Healthcare
The course is designed for students interested in
basic vocabulary of medecine for professional reasons
as doctors, nurses, ecc. The most important topics are
included in the course, however, as the area is extremely
broad, contents can be decided according to students’
needs.
3 lessons per week, each lasting 2 hours. It is possible
to combine this course with the Italian language course.
Italian Opera
This course is dedicated to lovers of lyric Opera.
It provides basic information on the most important
operas, with the listening of some arias from these
operas as Non più andrai from
“ Le nozze di Figaro”; La donna
è mobile from “ Rigoletto”;
Che gelida manina from “ La Bohème”.
Through the reading and understanding of libretti, students
improve their general knowledge of Italian language
as well as learn a fundamental feature of Italian culture.
